I can understand the recommendation to do a surgical biopsy, although as I mentioned that is not uniformly agreed upon in the breast care community. However, without knowing what the result of the biopsy is, why is there a recommendation for 1 month of radiation therapy based solely on a diagnosis of LCIS on core biopsy? That is not standard.

Hello thank you for your quick response. I met with the surgeon today and he recommended I have a the small area removed and that they check my nodes. And he had a copy of the same path report i had showing the LCIS he said it is better to get the area out so it does not turn into invasive cancer and then 1 month of radiation and 5 years of tamox. I think they just want to be safe maybe. And he did day I Have LCIS.
Thank you
